In a powerful convergence of service, science, and strategic wellness, the Philippine Coast Guard Headquarters welcomed a landmark Wellness Day in cooperation with Total Swiss Philippines and ProLifeToday.Org and major sponsors from health advocates. The event marked a significant step toward integrating holistic health into the daily lives of uniformed personnel and civilian staff.
The program was graced by Commodore Dorothy D. Manglicmot, PCG, Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Comptrollership, CG-6, whose keynote address emphasized the vital role of wellness in sustaining operational excellence. “Wellness is not a side mission—it is central to our readiness, resilience, and long-term service,” she declared, urging attendees to embrace proactive health practices as part of their leadership journey.
Joining her was Dr. Anthony So, BSPT, MD, DPBRM, FPARM, Chief Resident of the Rehabilitation Department at University of Santo Tomas Hospital, who delivered a compelling lecture on integrative rehabilitation, preventive care, and the science of recovery. His session offered practical strategies for mobility, injury prevention, and long-term vitality—tailored to the unique demands of military and maritime service.
The event also honored the presence of Director Irene Marie Valdeavilla, a visionary leader behind Total Swiss Philippines, whose advocacy for wellness, financial empowerment, and legacy-building continues to shape lives across the region. Her message reinforced the company’s core philosophy: “Be Healthy, Be Wealthy”—a call to action for sustainable health and economic resilience.
Major sponsorship was provided by Rebuilt and Rise Trading and APEXCELL Health and Wellness, both led by Ms. Lebannie Gutierrez, Vice President, and Ms. Jhides Rioja, General Manager of Cavintures Trading. Their generous support enabled a full-day experience.
This collaborative initiative reflects a shared commitment to whole-person leadership—where physical health, mental clarity, and financial literacy converge to support national service. As the Coast Guard continues its mission to safeguard the nation’s maritime domain, events like these ensure its personnel are equipped not only with tactical skill, but with the strength and stability to thrive.
